The CCSRE "Arab Futures and Pasts: Palestine+" Faculty Research Network will be hosting Dr. Maytha Alhassan and Halah Ahmad at CCSRE on 27 May to talk about storytelling, narrative, and the epistemological implications of varied storytelling traditions within and outside the U.S. university, media, and policy realms—including our roles within such spaces. In particular, they will focus on modes of Palestinian storytelling for community, political, and creative outlets and the resonance with historic Hakawati traditions. The discussion will contrast our experiences with storytelling forms that produce or limit agency, unpacking the alienation of Palestinians from their own stories and thinking toward greater credibility and palpability within colonial contexts.
