The Institute for Diversity in the Arts (IDA), African & African American Studies, and the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity presents Faculty Director H. Samy Alim on Wednesday, Nov 30th, 5:00-6:30pm at the Black Community Services Center.

Professor Alim will give a talk inspiried by his new book, Raciolinguistics: How Language Shapes Our Ideas About Race co-edited in collaboration with John R. Rickford, and Arnetha F. BallThe talk is titled "Who's Afraid of the Transracial Subject?" - Barack Obama, Rachel Dolezal, and the Political Project of Transracialization.

This event is part of a series of lectures for the course, "Introduction to Identity, Diversity and Aesthetics." All events are free and open to the public.
