Abstract:

This paper discusses an ongoing community-based research project with the HANA Center, a community organization for Korean Americans in the greater Chicagoland area, conducted in the summer of 2022. The primary aim of the research project is to build consciousness, awareness, and engagement with racial justice issues within the Korean American community through conversations and listening sessions, promoting healthy engagement and discussion of topics such as personal experiences with racism, Korean American perceptions of other communities of color, and what needs to be improved across both intergenerational and interracial lines in order to work towards racial justice.
