Shacon Jones II is an artist-scholar-activist and doctoral candidate in TAPS. Focusing on the Black male body in undervalued citizenship-making and life-sustaining practices, his dissertation employs ethnographic methods to examine mundane and spectacular choreographies of Black men engaged in radical pleasure in the U.S. and abroad. Shacon has been a graduate fellow for the Black Community Service Center, Stanford Arts Institute, Hope House Scholars Program, and the Haas Center for Public Service. Prior to Stanford, he was a senior-level administrator for New Haven Public Schools and Bronx Community College.
