Welcome New Center Manager, Amy Potemski

Amy Potemski

Amy Potemski is the new Center Manager at the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. As Center Manager, she is responsible for overseeing the budget, appointing lecturers, and supporting the mission of both the research institute and academic programs. Potemski has worked at Stanford University since 2017, and prior to her time at CCSRE she worked for the Diversity and Access Office, as well as in student services for three IDPs – American Studies, Feminist Gender and Sexuality Studies, and Modern Thought and Literature. In these roles, Potemski enjoyed advising and engaging with diverse cohorts, including many first-generation students.

Potemski recently graduated from New York University with a Masters of Arts in Sociology of Education, where she studied intersections of identity and belonging in higher education. Before her time at Stanford, Potemski worked for a decade in education policy research, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas Christian University (’04) and a Master’s of Public Policy from George Washington University (’06).

"We're delighted to have Amy join our CCSRE team. I was fortunate to work with her in supporting students in FGSS, American Studies, and MTL. I know she will thrive in this new leadership role as Center Manager," Director Paula Moya said.
