Amani Starnes

Amani is thrilled to be joining the inaugural cohort of the CRC Teaching Fellowship. Amani is completing her Ph.D. in Stanford's Theater and Performance Studies department and holds an undergraduate degree from Yale University. At Stanford, her work focuses on contemporary Black feminist performance and adaptation. On Campus, she has cultivated her lifelong commitment to social justice as a facilitator for Stanford's Certificate in Critical Consciousness and Anti-Oppresive Praxis program. Before and during graduate school, she worked as a professional actor, singer, producer, and educator committed to equity in theater, film, and television.
