Project title: Systems Navigator Project with Santa Clara County Public Defender
Project description: This summer, I am working as an ethnographer and interviewer on Professor Clair's System's Navigator Project with the Santa Clara County Office of the Public Defender. Our team of researchers and system navigators is observing the courtroom and working to improve communication and collaboration between lawyers and their clients. We are meeting with and supporting defendants, as well as, gathering information on their perception of and experiences with the public defenders. Our ultimate hope is to resolve mistrust in attorney-client relationships.
