Byron Barahona

Byron Barahona (he/him) is an education scholar and practitioner whose work is grounded in critical race theory and liberationist pedagogy. Byron has dedicated his career to supporting historically marginalized communities by serving as a compassionate administrator, mentor, and educator to students and organizations committed to creating a more just and equitable world.

As the Core Curriculum Coordinator, Byron is responsible for designing, implementing, teaching, and evaluating the new CCSRE Core Gateway Sequence. These courses aim to equip students with foundational knowledge essential for their success within the major while simultaneously fostering a sense of community and belonging.
