Jameelah Morris is a doctoral student in the Department of Anthropology. Her research focuses on land dispossession, historical memory, and Black political formation and mobilization in Latin America. She conducts research on the ongoing dispossession of Afro-descendant territories and communities on the Caribbean Coast of Colombia. Furthermore, she is interested in the ways in which Black youth activism and youth articulations of Black life are constitutive parts of the defense of the these territories in the region.
