I'm a PhD student in Economics, with interests in education, labor economics, and economic history. My current research agenda includes projects studying the effects of teachers from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) on Black student achievement in North Carolina, the long-run teacher labor market and economic impacts from court-ordered U.S. school desegregation, and how colleges affect their local school districts.
Prior to Stanford, I was a research specialist with the Eviction Lab at Princeton University, working on studies estimating the national prevalence of residential eviction, judgement amounts in eviction court cases, and eviction in the Houston Independent School District. Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, I studied economics and math at the University of Mary Washington and education policy at the University of Pennsylvania.
