Mike O'Key is a Ph.D. student in the Graduate School of Education, concentrating in Race, Inequality, and Language (RILE) and Social Sciences, Humanities, and Interdisciplinary Policy Studies (SHIPS), as well as an M.A. student in the Sociology Department. He holds a Master of Regional Planning from Cornell University, and a B.A. and B.S. in Public Administration and Environmental Design, respectively, from Auburn University. His research interests examine relationships between school access and student assignment policies, school segregation, and juvenile delinquency. Mike has been appointed by Governor Roy Cooper to serve on the Juvenile Justice Planning Committee of the North Carolina Governor's Crime Commission.
