Michelle Casas (she/her/hers) is a PhD student in Sociology. Broadly, her research interests include immigration, race and ethnicity, and economic mobility. Before attending Stanford, Michelle worked as a research analyst at the Urban Institute's Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population. There, she worked with all levels of government to conduct research on early childhood education, access to safety net programs, and the economic security and well-being of minority populations. In her graduate studies, she aims to continue working on research that supports evidence-based policies to enhance the well-being of marginalized populations within their communities.
Michelle received a BA in Economics with minors in Sociology and Data Science from the University of Notre Dame in 2021. She enjoys exploring local food scenes and running
