Namrata Verghese

Namrata Verghese is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in Modern Thought and Literature at Stanford University. She is also pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School. Her research interests lie at the nexus of queer theory, postcolonial studies, and the legal humanities. Her academic writing is forthcoming in The Journal of Postcolonial Writing and Routledge Companion to Cultural Text and the Nation. Her public Scholarship has appeared in Teen Vogue and The Los Angeles Review of Books. She holds an MA with Distinction in Postcolonial Studies from SAOS, University of London, and a BA, summa cum laude, in English from Emory University, where she was a Robert W. Woodruff Scholar.
