Phong Nguyen

Phong Nguyen (he/him) is a senior majoring in Asian American Studies and minoring in Human Rights. He was born in Vietnam but has spent most of his life in Chicago, where he gained extensive experience advocating for the Asian American community and expanding access to Asian American Studies in PK-12 education. On campus, Phong is deeply engaged with the Asian American community, whether it's curating plays with the Asian American Theater Project or organizing through the Asian American Activities Center. This year he hopes to inspire more students to join the Asian American Studies program and become agents of change, creating spaces of care and community along the way.
