Saimary Velázquez Carrasquillo

Saimary Velázquez Carrasquillo (any/all) is the Administrative Associate at the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. They support event planning and logistics, coordinate communication and outreach, and provide general administrative support for the Center.

Before joining CCSRE, Saimary held roles at Stanford’s Women’s Community Center and Residential Education, where they coordinated space usage, public programming, and administrative operations.

Saimary holds a B.A. in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity and Anthropology, with Honors, from Stanford University. Their academic work focused on archival research, soundscapes, anticoloniality, identity formation, and (counter)storytelling, with a focus on Puerto Rico, their home island. In 2025, they received the Albert M. Camarillo Senior Paper Prize for their Senior Project in CCSRE.

Saimary’s work is grounded in a commitment to cultural production, learning as a liberatory tool, and transformative justice.
