Sarah Jobalia is a Ph.D. student in computer graphics. She is interested in the technology behind digital games, visual effects and animated films, and is exploring how to build tools better suited to generating a diversity of hair and hairstyles. Her work relieson understanding the physical makeup of different hair types, how they move, and the social importance of various hair types and styles, as well as technical knowledge in computer science and physics. Sarah is a Ford Foundation Fellow who served as the chair of Women in Computer Science, was a member of the Computer Science PhD Advisory Council, and a member of the School of Engineering's Dean's Graduate School Advising Committee, where she served on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
