Sunidhi is a PhD student in the Department of Anthropology. Her ethnographic inquiry surveys how caste structures imitate desire, and the attendant social ramifications of this process. She is exploring the emergent possibilities of negotiation shaped by sex, stigma and sociability within (and without) dominant caste communities and spaces n the Indian state of Maharashtra. Through this inquiry, she wishes to detangle how Dalit womanhood is formed beyond the contested terrains of caste-based honor and individuated dignity.
