The Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity (CCSRE) promotes teaching and research about race and ethnicity from transnational and comparative perspectives. CCSRE plans to offer three teaching roles in the 2026-27 academic year: CCSRE Teaching Fellow, Senior Seminar Coordinator, and Community Engagement Fellow. CCSRE Teaching Fellow
The Graduate Teaching Fellow supports two core courses in CCSRE annually.
This award provides three quarters of financial support for Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters. For two quarters, the Graduate Teaching Fellow is appointed to a 50% teaching assistantship and receives a salary and tuition. For the third quarter, the Fellow receives a fellowship stipend and TGR tuition.
In addition to financial support and professional experience, this award provides Fellows the opportunity to engage deeply and critically with other scholars in the CCSRE community.
CCSRE Senior Seminar Coordinator
The Senior Seminar Coordinator TAs CSRE's honors workshop in Fall, Winter, and Spring.
The Coordinator holds regular office hours, reads and responds to drafts, and meets with students individually to offer guidance and feedback. They also work with the Academic Programs team to coordinate annual Spring honors thesis presentations.
In addition to financial support and professional experience, this award provides Fellows the opportunity to engage deeply and critically with other scholars in the CCSRE community.
CCSRE Community Engagement Fellow
The Community Engagement Fellow supports CCSRE's Undergraduate Fellowship program by cultivating and stewarding community partnerships, supporting undergraduate project development, and teaching about ethics and best practices in community engagement.
This award provides 3 quarters of financial support for the Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters of 2026-2027, with the option for additional employment over the summer. In Autumn and Winter quarters, the Community Engagement Fellow will hold a 50% Course Assistantship, and in Spring quarter, they are appointed to either a 50% Teaching Assistantship or 50% Graduate Teaching Affiliate position (based upon the needs of the Center). In the Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters, the Fellow will receive a salary and TGR tuition. In the summer, they will have the opportunity to be employed as the Community Engagement Fellow at an hourly pay rate for a maximum of 8 hours per week.
