Thomas Blom Hansen

Thomas Hansen is the Reliance-Dhirubhai Ambani Professor in South Asian Studies and Professor in Anthropology. He is also the Director of Stanford’s Center for South Asia where he is charged with building a substantial new program. He has many and broad interests spanning South Asia and Southern Africa, several cities and multiple theoretical and disciplinary interests from political theory and continental philosophy to psychoanalysis, comparative religion and contemporary urbanism.
 

Kathryn Gin Lum

Kathryn Gin Lum is Assistant Professor in the Religious Studies Department, in collaboration with the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity, and History (by courtesy) at Stanford. She is also Assistant Professor by courtesy, of History and affiliated with American Studies and Asian American Studies. Her teaching and research focus on the lived ramifications of religious beliefs; she specializes in the history of religion and race in America.
