Welcome to home of Stanford’s Research Institute of Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity!
Since 1996, the Research Institute has been a leader in interdisciplinary and comparative research about race and ethnicity. We have welcomed into our ranks as faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, visiting researchers, and special event speakers a wide variety of scholars who work at the forefront of race and ethnicity studies across the U.S. and internationally.
As sponsor of the Center’s popular Faculty Seminar Series and Chautauqua Series as well as faculty and graduate student fellowship programs, the Research Institute strives to support and sustain an integrated, diverse community of scholars to foster a stable, inclusive, democratic society that successfully incorporates diverse people, institutions, cultures, and practices.
I invite you to join us in our mission to develop a deeper understanding of how race and ethnicity intersect with multiple social science and humanities fields of study as well as with our everyday lives.
