Challenging Mestizaje within the Mexican Context

Abstract

Mestizaje, as a project, is often credited to derive from José Vasconcelos. However, in their CCSRE Senior Project, Angel delves into how Mestizaje, as a structural system, not only derives from colonial times but has evolved into identities that do not fit the characteristics of the "Mestizo Identity. Within this project, Angel took on zines to explore case studies of Mestizaje to challenge it through its definition and impacts.
