Abstract
The United States education system is experiencing a crisis of systemic inequality. However, in the U.S., educational governance is also heavily decentralized, with local school boards having significant power to address these disparities. This capstone project serves as an introductory curriculum for student education justice organizers to learn about the dynamics of local education systems, inequality, and relational organizing. Leveraging case studies developed from both research and personal reflection, the curriculum provides a space to consider the ways in which power, politics, and educational inequality link together—and how students can create change in their own communities.
