Our Mission: To advance racial equity through interdisciplinary education, innovative research, and community engagement

About the Center

The Center for Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity (CCSRE) is Stanford’s hub for interdisciplinary research and teaching on race. Through its Academic Programs and its Research Institute, the Center explores how race and ethnicity shape global history, undergird our social systems, and touch every aspect of our lives. The Center offers a vibrant calendar of public events and offers undergraduate degrees in Asian American, Chicana/o-Latina/o, Native American, Jewish, and Comparative Studies as well as a Ph.D. Minor. CCSRE also supports faculty networks, research publications, training, policy engagement, and public education on diverse topics including art, criminal justice, artificial intelligence, and inequality.
