Prof. Alondra Nelson was selected as  Deputy Director for Science and Society — a new position — in the Biden administration’s Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP).  Among her many qualifications, Prof. Nelson is President-elect of the Society for Social Studies of Science (aka 4S) — the principal professional association for Science & Technology Studies (STS)

Alondra Nelson is president of the Social Science Research Council and president-elect of the Society for Social Studies of Science, the principal professional society for STS scholars. She is also the Harold F. Linder Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study. She has just been appointed Deputy Director for Science and Society — a new position — in the Biden administration’s Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP).
