She is a daughter to Maya Yucateco migrants and was raised on occupied Tongva land called Hawthorne, CA. The experiences of her family’s community and the community she was raised in have largely guided her motivations throughout her life. She is involved in the Stanford Indigenous Students of the Americas as Culture and Language Director, has served on the executive board of the Stanford First-Generation and/or Low-Income Partnership, participated on the organizing committee of the Stanford First-Generation and/or Low-Income Conference, and is an Education Partnerships Fellow.
