Maya Castillo

Maya is in their fourth year of studying ChiLatS and double minoring in Biology and Education. They are from a suburb on Gabrieliño lands called Downey, CA, and feel strongly about the maintenance, care, and protection of traditional ecological knowledge in a time when it and environmental justice are increasingly being diminished to buzzwords. Through creating stronger networks to the natural sciences, they hope to showcase the wealth of phenomena one can engage with through ChiLatS and CSRE more broadly.
